I have just really listened to this album. I have only heard bits and pieces before, but now it makes sense. It is not just hard to find, it is brilliant.
So where did this version come from? Is some of this resequenced from JBWTR? Or if these are all non-JBWTR mixes, where the heck did you get ‘em?! Does DW know about this? So good.
This is NOT a “Laswell collectible.” GODDAMIT. Thanks for posting, it DT. I’m ready to do a track-by track breakdown. You know, BECAUSE I WAS THERE, not Laswell, who I saw ONCE in the studio, passing through, in the six months we were in Greenpoint tracking. (And Greenpoint wasn’t the only studio involved while I was working on this record, either— it wasn’t a mix studio at the time, only tracking as it was a vast, open floor plan warehouse space with a “control room” created by a giant wall of one-foot thick foam slabs.
